Swedish sensation Lukas Andersson will make his FIA European Rallycross Championship debut in his home round of the series next week at Höljes in Sweden on 5-6 July, driving a Ford Fiesta RX1 run in collaboration between title-winning teams JC Raceteknik and SET Promotion.

17-year-old Andersson claimed the RallyX Junior CrossCar title in 2021, before progressing to senior competition. Delivering performances beyond his years, racing in the highly-competitive single-make RallyX Supercar Lites category, Andersson claimed double-victory in his maiden weekend in Denmark and challenged for the title throughout the campaign, eventually finishing third overall.

Securing further victories through 2024, Andersson finished second in the standings last year, and has continued a run of strong form while building his experience in 2025.

For his Euro RX1 debut at the Höljes ‘Magic Weekend’, held on the first weekend on July each year, Andersson will race the Ford Fiesta RX1 with which compatriot Anton Marklund claimed his fourth FIA Euro RX title, in 2023.

The car will be run as a collaboration between 11-time FIA Euro RX Championship-winning team SET Promotion, and former World RX, Euro RX, Nitro RX and RallyX champions JC Raceteknik.

The event will be broadcast live on YouTube, check out the FIA World Rallycross Championship social media for details.

Lukas Andersson said:“This will be the best thing I’ve ever experienced in motorsport, maybe even the best thing that has ever happened to me. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to everyone who has believed in me and supported me to be able to do this. To drive in Holjes at the Magic Weekend in a Supercar [RX1] has to be the one thing every rallycross driver wants to experience.

“Anton [Marklund] performed really well with this car in 2023, and I have a great feeling about it; it’s a brilliant opportunity. I have no expectations whatsoever, I’m coming into the weekend with only a few laps ever in a Supercar [RX1] and the level is really high, so I just go there to have a really good time and gain experience. To even make it to the final would be massive for me!

At such an iconic track and in my home country it will also be special to share the weekend with my and supporters.”
